LUKOIL has started the construction of Kandym gas processing complex (GPC) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is a key production facility in the frame of development of the Kandym group of gas condensate fields located in the Bukhara region in the South-West of the country.
The ceremony of laying the stone was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, “LUKOIL” President Vagit Alekperov, the local authorities and main contractors.
The gas processing plant, to be built within the construction of the Kandym gas processing complex will have a capacity of 8.1 billion m3 of gas per year, as well as natural gas gathering system, which at the stage of full development will include 114 producing wells, 11 well pads and 4 lots. 370 km of pipelines, 160 km of paved roads will be built. It is planned to involve about 7 thousand people at the peak of construction of the complex and infrastructure.
“Construction of the Kandym gas processing complex marks a new stage in the development of gas resources of Uzbekistan. This complex will become one of the largest in Central Asia, and its operation will create more than two thousand permanent jobs”, – said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev.
“Kandym gas processing complex will concentrate the best staff and the most advanced technological solutions, hereby maintaining the highest standards of production safety, labour protection and environment protection. It is the largest investment project of our company in Uzbekistan”, – said the President of JSC “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov.
This project is implemented by LUKOIL together with the National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz. Kandym group comprises 6 gas condensate fields – Kandym, Kuvachi-Alat, Akkum, Parsankul, Khoji and West Khoji. (economics.uzreport.uz)
