Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the issue of energy saving will be discussed at the next sitting of Ukraine’s National Council of Reforms.
President Poroshenko said this in his speech dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“It is clear that Ukraine either today or tomorrow, by diversifying energy supplies and getting energy independence in its fight, will not be able to abandon nuclear energy. But at the same time, we should think about new technologies, alternative and non-traditional energy sources, about energy efficiency. The issue of energy saving, by the way, immediately after the holidays will be discussed at the National Council of Reforms,” Poroshenko said.
The President also stressed that strict and efficient measures on nuclear security should become a key priority in the nuclear energy sphere. (ukrinform.net)
